There are six varieties of the breed that are: smooth-haired, wire-haired and longhaired and they are in two sizes, Standard and Miniature. The standard type is about 14-18 inches high and weighs about 20 pounds. The miniature type is up to 14 inches and weighs 9 pounds. A chihuahua dachshund mix is not common at responsible kennels and such dogs are usually common at rescues.
