These dogs were bred to go to ground and get a badger from its den. Earth dogging is a serious competition that checks and confirms the hunting skills of a dog. Special trials that are occasionally held give the dogs and other earth dogs (such as terriers) a chance to achieve one of the following titles: Novice Earth dog (NE), Senior Earth Dog (SE) and Master Earth Dog (ME).
